1.0 Advice for Users

Introduction

DaTSCAN TM (Ioflupane 123I) is a radioligand used in the differential diagnosis Parkinsonian Syndromes (PS) with presynaptic degeneration from other similar clinical presentations not associated with presynaptic deficits such as essential tremor.

This advice for uses is split into 4 sections:

  1. Clinical Advice, who should be imaged with DaTSCAN and how patients should be prepared.
  2. Pharmaceutical Advice Medication that may interfere with FP-CIT imaging.
  3. Technical advice on how the imaging data should be acquired.
  4. Patients advice and answers to frequently asked questions.
